SuperLega, Itas Trentino superb in Verona: impressive 3-0 win in the derby of the Adige

After the late January break dedicated to the Italian and CEV Cups, Itas Trentino resumed their dominant run in the 2024/25 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season this afternoon, claiming another prestigious and valuable away victory. With an outstanding performance, the European Champion team won the 49th Derby of the Adige, defeating the recent Final Four finalist Rana Verona on their home court in Bologna. The clean 3-0 victory secured today in the packed Pala Agsm Aim (5,200 spectators) extends the winning streak to six in the direct rivalry and is especially crucial for continuing to fuel their reasonable hopes for the top spot in the standings.
Facing a team in great form, Soli’s squad showed their cohesion once again, dominating the first two sets with serving and counterattacking, and then managing the tight battle with the home team in the third set. The team's success was driven by their powerful serving (nine aces with just twelve errors), exceptional defensive focus, and a stellar performance from the entire attacking front, which converted 66% of attacks and maintained high numbers after the home victory on Thursday night against Brasov (71%). Flavio (12 points with 73% in attack, three blocks, and one ace), Lavia (12 points with 79% efficiency at the net and one block), and Michieletto (top scorer with 13 points, 69% in attack, and four aces) were constant thorns in the side of Verona’s defense, with Alessandro earning MVP honors after essentially deciding the first set with his serving, which tilted the balance in favor of the European Champions.
