SuperLega, in Porto San Giorgio Itas Trentino slightly struggles but resumes its run

The month of November opens with a hard-fought but crucial victory in the Marche region for Itas Trentino’s men’s team. This evening, the European Champions overcame the newcomer Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina in four sets, quickly returning to victory in the league at the end of the match held at the PalaSavelli arena, valid for the sixth round of the 2024/25 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season. A valuable result that hung in the balance for much of the match, also due to the commendable performance by the home team. Despite missing former player Fedrizzi and their top scorer Petkovic—both sidelined by injuries—the team from the Marche region initially aimed to surprise the gialloblù, applying pressure with strong serves and attacks. Trentino wavered in reception during the first set and fell behind 0-1. However, Soli’s team once again showed its resilience and quality, skills that allowed them to bounce back in the most challenging moments and take control of the game, despite experiencing a few too many lapses along the way. Michieletto’s 25 points (with a 69% attack efficiency, one block, and two aces), Magalini’s 15 points (who was in the starting six in place of Lavia, rested by the coach), and Gabi Garcia’s 12 points (who came on mid-match to replace Rychlicki, starting for the first time since his ankle injury in the Supercoppa match in Florence)—along with impressive net efficiency overall—helped steer the three points towards Itas Trentino. This keeps them undefeated in regular-season away games (9 out of 9), and, with Verona's loss to Modena on Saturday night, strengthens their third-place position in the standings just ahead of next Sunday’s Adige Derby.
Itas Trentino will return to Trento overnight and will begin preparations in the gym starting Monday afternoon for their next SuperLega match . On Sunday, November 10, at the ilT Quotidiano Arena from 18.00, they will face Rana Verona in the traditional matchup, which is part of the seventh round of the regular season.
