Another test for Itas Trentino: on Wednesday challenge vs Piacenza in Schio

One test match leads to another for Itas Trentino men's team. After having waited almost 40 days of preparation to play the first one, last Saturday in Rovereto against Innsbruck, on 11 September in Schio (Vicenza) the European Champion line-up will take the court to immediately face the second one, which promises to be even more interesting.
On Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm at PalaRomare, the yellow-blue team will take on Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza for the match that will host the 2nd ‘Trofeo Città di Schio’. For Trentino Volley, the pre-season appointment on Schio's soil is now becoming a pleasant and consolidated tradition; it will be the third time in the last seven seasons. On 23 September of last year, the match was played against Modena (who won in four sets), in this case the opponent will be different but still from Emilia.
Ten days after the Supercoppa Final Four in Florence, Fabio Soli will be able to have the entire roster at his disposal for the first time (Flavio and Bristot joined on Monday), against a formation like Piacenza's that could possibly be faced twice more over the next few weekends since, like Itas Trentino, they will play both the Trofeo Astori in Montichiari on 14 and 15 September, and the Tuscan appointment that will officially open the club season. “We are coming to this match for the first time with a full roster, and we hope to take the opportunity to take a further step forward in terms of team spirit and game identity - explained the coach - . Beyond the result, which in this period is not primary, the objective of these days is to acquire game intensity, trying to realise in the match the details that we are sharing daily in the gym. We are still heavy in our movements, due to the intense preparation work done so far, and for this reason it is unthinkable to expect quality volleyball; what I hope to see on the court, however, is the desire to grow”.
Sbertoli and his teammates will find on the other side of the net a Gas Sales Bluenergy team that has already undergone three previous joint training sessions (two with Modena and one with Milan) and that has been working at full strength for the past ten days or so. Since the end of August, coach Andrea Anastasi can also count on the new signings Kovacevic, Maar, Galassi and Bovolenta, as well as Simon, Romanò, Brizard and Scanferla, who have been forming the backbone of the sextet for years.
More than 2,200 spectators will be waiting for the two teams; the PalaRomare in Schio is in fact heading for a sell-out. Only about fifty standing room tickets remain, and they will be sold at the ticket counters on the night of the game.
